Professional production of forage seeds
Pasture Genetics has defined professional seed production as one of the four pillars on which our company is based. Quality is built in the field, with attention to every detail. It all begins with the generation and proposal of interesting and flexible production plans designed with the needs and interests of our partner producers in mind. The process continues with the selection of the farm based on its soil characteristics, topography, fertility, ancestors, and herbicides applied.
Next comes the supply of quality seed, professionally treated to ensure the best and most uniform emergence. The careful planting process, adjusting fertilization, and controlling weeds, pests, and diseases follow. Management before, during, and after harvest, which may require mowing and windrowing. The preservation and processing of the harvested seed, as well as its storage and distribution until it reaches the final customer—either a producer in our region or an overseas client—are also essential.
Building on our country's renowned prestige in the production and supply of quality forage seeds and the well-earned credibility of our institutions, which attest to the quality generated, we will seek to produce and export seeds of both traditional and non-traditional forage species to different markets across various continents. This will create new diversification opportunities for producers and generate foreign currency for the country.
